I Figured It Out!

I Hate Labels! This is why I'm having such a hard time with this Army Wife thing! I am not one to label myself and this is what has me freaking out. (I would like to thank Alex for my realization to this too). Not once have I defined myself as anything. I am just me. If I were to label myself this is what I'd be, A short, smart, infertile, arthritic, obsessive compulsive, sarcastic, cynical, bitch of an Army Wife. Yeah, sounds pleasant. This is why I just say that I am me.

I want everyone who is reading this to stop for a moment and just think of what you would be labeled as. Does it truly define you?

Labels distract from the actual person. Take for example a gay person. One rarely sees them as anything other than gay. They could be ridiculously smart or incredibly talented in music, art, or anything else but they are only seen as gay.

I guess I just wish that most people in the world (and this goes for people I've never met and never will meet the world over) would not just judge people based on labels.

P.S. I am not excluding myself from this cuz I can't say as I haven't done it. Lord knows I have and I am definitely changing that.

No, you didn't offend me, I guess I just wanted you to realize that being an "army wife" isn't as bad as it seems.

Jenn, it depends on how you rock it. Look in the mirror. Say, "I am an army wife. Its part of my life, but it does NOT define me. And I am about to add a WHOLE new demension to the term"
Then smile.
Because its what I do everyday. I am outspoken. I am opinionated. I am sarcastic as hell, but I have learned when to keep my mouth shut. I have learned that playing the AW "game" is easier then it looks. I have learned that I am not goign to tell my husbands suprior officers wife that she is a crazy bitch because well, that husband is going to make Sean's life hell for a bit. I have learned not to smart off to superiors in general. Again, they will make his life hell. (sorry bout the extra pt babe.. hehehe)

Its part of our life. It doesn't define us.
Its like tattoos Jenn. You have what, 14?? I have 2. You have them proudly on your body and prominately displayed. Mine are discrete, I am not embarresed, I just don't flaunt them. Now the reverse is true of being a AW for us. I have embraced it, made the most of it, and I know how to rock that world. You have it on the backburner, it doesn't play such an important role in your life. But... we both have it..
--did that make any sense to you??
I love ya babe, I know you appreciate me. You aren't going to piss me off.. LOL why would it? I speak my mind too. How hyprocritcal would that be?? I get a KICK outta reading your blogs. You just gotta be able to take my opinion right back. :)

I like the tattoo thing. It makes perfect sense. It's a good way of looking at it. And I hope you don't think I can't take other people's opinions. That is not it at all. I sometimes come off bitchy when I don't mean to and with the lack of emotion with writing, well you know how that all goes.
